Anonymous asked: I just discovered your demo, and it is ADORABLE! Even though the demo path wasn't a ship I shipped, I was grinning like a moron the whole entire time I was playing it ... it was just that cute!! Everything is really lovely so far so I just wanted to let you guys know that you are AWESOME and keep up the good work!!!
Thank you so much! Hopefully we’ll have some more demo stuff by the end of the summer. :)

Anonymous asked: Could you upload the demos again to a different filehost? Mediafire is gone.
Which one did you try to download? I just went to check, and it looks like all of them are still up.

abscondnow asked: i must really congratulate you for such an amazing idea and development!! The game is really one of my most expected fan-games!! keep up the good work
Thank you so much! Hopefully we’ll have more to show you soon; we’re glad you like what we have so far!

blahstuck asked: pardon me, if you dont like the idea, but it might be really simple, since they would only be short little things, one for each. but that is even if you want them! otherwise, the demo run was very cute as it was!
It is a cute idea, and it would certainly be easier than voice-acting the whole thing; nonetheless, we would still need voice actors for each character. That would necessitate auditions and interviews for at least a dozen spots, even assuming some actors could take on multiple roles; it would also involve multiple recording sessions for each phrase, since we’re kind of perfectionists.
So again, in a perfect world it would be possible—but as it is, we’re not willing to take on such a game-changing commitment at this juncture.

blahstuck asked: in regards to voice acting, it would be cute if the characters each had one phrase they said that was characteristic. for example, nepeta would say "meow!" when she popped up, or was excited, wherever it would be easy enough to have her say something! and dave could say "sup" when introd into conversations, etc.
That would be cute, but it would still require us to hold auditions for over a dozen new team members at minimum. It’s just not a feasible option for RoH at this point in time.

Anonymous asked: On voiceacting, there is this thing on the MSPA Forums called "The Murder Game" which is a fully voiced visual novel (without graphics at the moment), voice completely by the Homestuck VA troupe and the 413 Voice Acting Group. Of course, this is a much larger game, but still definitely doable with a good team.
That sounds great! But again, it would be a major commitment for RoH, and it’s not really a prospect we’re willing to tackle right now—especially since our current team is not really set up to handle voice acting at all.

deadrobotz asked: I saw the last ask about the voice acting. And was just gonna say, it would be insanely difficult but you could always add some voice acting just for like. Very important CG area part. Perhaps a few lines at the end of a good route or something. And even then. You could always do it later as an update or expansion or something if you had someone who could code it as such xP Just random ideas. Don't mind me.
That’s an interesting idea, thank you! I think it might be a little outside the scope of the project, though; we still have over 40 unfinished ships to write, draw, and code, so it’s really hard to say what we’ll be able to do (or what interest will be like!) when we finally finish.
-
tokikohyuuga asked: Are you considering adding voiceacting (which could be optionally disabled, of course) once the game is finished?
I can honestly say we hadn’t thought of that until now! However, hosting auditions and recording thousands of lines for each character would be INCREDIBLY complicated and prone to disaster—we’d need about thirty different voices and probably hundreds of hours of recording. So, unfortunately, I don’t think that’s a really practical goal for us.
-
Anonymous asked: So, are all the ships in this game flushed-only? :)
Unfortunately, yes! It would just be WAY too complicated to try and make a multi-quadrant game. Maybe at some unspecified point in the future, if RoH goes well, we’ll think about doing something in the other quadrants…but that is a hugely hypothetical maybe!

underlordwynt asked: Hey, just wonderin' out of curiosity, what programs are you guys using to make the whole thing? Photoshop and Flash, or are you using some other software like RPG Maker~?
The programming is done in ren’py, the talksprites are a combination of Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI, the backgrounds are modeled in Sims 3, and the logo was done in Illustrator!
